Georgia Paycheck Calculator (gapaycheckcalculator.com) is an independent website that estimates take-home pay for people who work in Georgia. It is not affiliated with the Internal Revenue Service, the Georgia Department of Revenue, the Georgia Department of Labor or any employer, payroll company or tax preparer.
What it does
It calculates what should be withheld from a Georgia paycheck for federal income tax, Social Security, Medicare and Georgia income tax, and what is left after pre-tax and after-tax deductions. It covers salaried and hourly pay, overtime, every common pay frequency, the full 2026 Form W-4 and Georgia Form G-4.
How it is built
- Official sources only. Every rate and threshold for tax year 2026 comes from an official document: IRS Publications 15-T and 15, the 2026 Form W-4, IRS revenue procedures and notices, the Georgia DOR Employer's Withholding Tax Guide (revised June 2026), Form G-4, and the text of Georgia HB 463. The methodology page lists each figure with its source.
- One engine for everything. The same calculation code runs the interactive calculator and produces every salary and hourly page, so the numbers always match.
- Tested. Automated tests check hand-worked examples for each filing status and pay frequency, the Social Security wage base, Additional Medicare, pre-tax deductions and edge cases. They include the Georgia DOR's own worked examples and a comparison with every cell of the IRS 2026 wage-bracket tables. The site is not published unless all tests pass.
- Private by design. Your inputs are calculated in your browser and are not sent to us. See the privacy policy.
Tax year and update policy
The site currently covers tax year 2026. We re-check the figures when the IRS or Georgia DOR publishes new withholding guidance, when Georgia enacts tax legislation (normally signed in April or May), and before each new tax year. The next scheduled review is when the IRS releases the 2027 Publication 15-T, usually in December. Each page shows the date its figures were last checked.
